빛, 향기, 피어남이라는 내 작품의 태마는 빛으로 향기 되어 피어나는 생명에 대한 사랑의 알레고리이길 원한다. 끝없이 확장되어 피어나는 생명의 꽃. 물론 그림은 이미지의 틀에서 벗어날 수 없는 한계를 지닌 것은 분명하나 적합한 이미지를 건져 올리는 것은 영적 안목의 선택이다. 인간의 마음속에는 창조주께서 마련한 아름다움을 추구케 하며 만나게 하는 빈방이 있다고 한다. 그것은 아름다움을 동경하는 심상이다. 인간은 오염된 각자가 지닌 자기근성, 자기시각, 자기가치관으로 세상을 바라보며 아름다움에 대한 표현하지만 이중적 양태로 선의 아름다움과 추의 아름다움이라는 조화와 부조화의 간극에서 고민하며 때로는 냄새풍기는 감정의 폭주로 개성이라는 덕목(?)에 넘겨버림으로 오만이 묻어나는 모호한 치기만을 드러내고 만다. 그림은 그림으로만 볼 수 없으며 그러므로 그림은 사물의 형태와 색채를 넘어 그 너머의 안을 보아야 한다. 그림의 정신이, 그리는 사람의 정신세계가 어떻게 있는지 그것이 작품의 가치를 인정케 한다고 본다. 인간을 물질로 보았을 때 압축하여 불순물을 제거한 순수덩이는 고양된 영혼이 아닐까? 예술은 무엇인가? 의미는? 고심하여 건져낸 그림의 가치는 보는 이의 내면의 정화 수치를 높이는 것이며 영혼의 쉼이라는 좋은 영향력을 끼쳐야 하는 책임과 의무가 있어야 한다.
시각으로 느껴지는 모든 형태는 원(점)에서 출발한다. 모든 색채는 빛에 의한 밝음과 어두움의 조화이다. 여기에 생명의 싹을 얹으며 무한히 확장되기를 바라며 향기로 피어남에 대한 기법, 기능을 얹는다. 빛의 향기는 무한대의 꽃으로 피어나 우리 모두를 덮으며 하나 되게 하며 그 안에서 겸손하기를 원한다. 영원한 그리움의 몸짓이며 낮아지고 작아짐에 대한 갈망이다. 그것은 가장 큰 우주적 표현을 꿈꾸는 마음이다.

The theme of my work is light, fragrance and blooming.
I wish for it to be an allegory of process of a life coming to a bloom as a result of the light source, emitting the fullness of its fragance, as a flower of life blooms with no end in sight.
a piece of art is by way of presentation kept within the boundaries of what is the physical image. But it’s a choice of the spiritual eye to bring forth a deeper image form the artwork.
It is said that the Creator made in each person a vacancy that pusues beauty. That’s the heart that the Creator made in each person a vacancy that pursues beauty. That’s the heart that admires beauty. A human being looks at the world and expresses beauty through his own sprit. own eyes and own worldview. But there’s an odd sense of duality, in which the beauty of the good clashes with that of the unpleasant. It is out of this incongruity that one broods and sometimes let his emotions run recklessly – all in the name of individuality, seemingly beautiful but tainted by pride.
One cannot look at a painting. Art should be considered beyond its form and colors. Knowing the spirit of the art, knowing the thoughts of the mind behind the artwork-that’s what makes one understand and acknowlege the the true value of the artwork.
